Begin the year with a deep dive exploring the 2022 theme for the sesquicentenary year of the Marist way in Australia. Now that the year has begun, let's stop for a bit, and then look forward in hope and expectation.

Marist Dreaming: A reflection about Longing and Belonging in the Association, and a Shared Lunch
Dreaming can be conscious, unconscious and spiritual (that engages with something beyond ourselves and with the gracious Mystery).
'Marist Dreaming' will facilitate a prayerful approach to help local group members articulate their Longings as well as present a model of Belonging.
The content includes material from Dignitatis Humanae and John Henry Newman, focusing the need for freedom and dignity of the individual in choosing their religious expression, tempered by the duty of conscience in serving God and God’s people.
After this reflection, there is scope for a follow up dynamic of gathering the members expressed Longings for the local group to create a local group vision.
All are welcome to stay on for a simple BBQ lunch (bring something to share – Cathy Le Mottee will be in touch with you closer to the date to arrange).

The National Assembly in August invites participants to make contributions either individually or from their local groups in each of two gatherings to be held before the Assembly. Our plan is to attend individually for this first one, and for the second one in late July, to get together and use the time as a 'breakout group' that feeds back.

The Poetic Art of Prayer
Andy is a Jesuit priest who currently resides in Melbourne and has held various roles including Parish Priest, Rector of Jesuit Theological College, Rector of St Ignatius College Riverview, Socius to the Provincial and Novice Master for new Jesuits. Andy is a published poet and artist and in 2010 he was one of three judges for the Blake Prize for Religious Art. Over the years he has developed various ways of using art to engage people with the Gospel.
This annual retreat offers a time of insight and renewal through a process of quiet reflection, spiritual reading and quality input.

End of Year Picnic and
Planning Day
Who can resist our annual gathering held on the lush lawns of Sydney's iconic Royal Botanic Garden?
Try out a new picnic recipe and bring it along as well as drinks to share with members and friends of our group. We'll also spend a little time agreeing on our 2023 plans, which you're encouraged to peruse before Sunday.
Meet at the Palace Rose Garden and Pavilion, entering via the Morshead Gate or Palace Garden gate.
