Let's reconvene and begin our year as a local Marist Association group with Sunday Eucharist, followed by an introduction to the 2024 Theme for the Marist Association, First Light – Reveal the Spirit.

St Patrick's Day Walk

Come along to enjoy one the best walks in the world, finishing with a casual lunch at Balmoral and a return trip by bus to a wide range of transport connections.

Led by Carole and Les Wark

Meet at 8.30am at Circular Quay to catch the 8.52am ferry to Taronga Zoo Wharf. You could also drive and park somewhere near Taronga Zoo Wharf, but bear in mind that parking is very limited.

Professor Amy-Jill Levine

The Jewish Jesus: Why It Matters
Internationally renowned scripture scholar Professor Amy-Jill Levine will explore the Jewish context of Jesus and what message his words and actions have for us in the Church today.

Amy-Jill (“AJ”) is Rabbi Stanley M. Kessler Distinguished Professor of New Testament and Jewish Studies at Hartford International University for Religion and Peace (Hartford, CT, USA) and University Professor of New Testament and Jewish Studies Emerita and Mary Jane Werthan Professor of Jewish Studies Emerita, at Vanderbilt University (Nashville, TN, USA).

Champagnat Day Mass & Dinner

All are welcome to our annual gathering to celebrate St Marcellin Champagnat and Renew our Commitment as Marists. Join together for eucharist with Fr Anthony Casamento CSMA, followed by a simple meal to celebrate the Founder of Marist education and the inspiration for our Association.

Dinner will be provided, so just bring along some drinks to share.

Mid-Winter Retreat with
Bishop Greg Homeming OCD

Our annual retreat offers a time of insight and renewal through a process of quiet reflection, spiritual reading and quality input. In 2024 the retreat will be facilitated by Bishop Greg Homeming OCD, Bishop of Lismore. The focus will be on Prayer, a topic in which Bishop Greg has considerable expertise. Bishop Greg is a member of the Discalced Carmelite Order, a reform of the ancient Carmelite order, and has held numerous leadership positions within the order prior to being ordained a bishop in 2017.

You're invited to connect the imagination of God's Spirit with the 'colours' in our lives and in the life of the Church. We'll explore cognitive, affective and spiritual dimensions of Marist charism and their interplay within our lives.

2024 National Virtual Gathering

OUT OF DREAMING, INTO ACTION

Join online to explore a new document on the calls of Marist Association National Assembly III, as we seek to discern and respond as a spiritual family within the Church.

A blend of prayer, formation, discussion and connection.

Saturday 2 November

Movie Night

Join us at Palace Cinemas at the Moore Park Entertainment Quarter for a night at the big screen.

We'll be watching There's Still Tomorrow (Italian with English subtitles), the number one grossing film in Italy in 2023 and people's favourite of the 2024 St Ali Italian Film Festival here in Australia.

Following that, we'll continue with dinner at Fratelli Fresh for those who'd like to stay on.

Please register by 4pm Thursday 31 October so that a reservation for dinner can be made without penalty.

End of Year Picnic and
2025 Planning Gathering

Who can resist our annual gathering held on the lush lawns of Sydney's iconic Royal Botanic Garden?

Try out a new picnic recipe and bring it along as well as drinks to share with members and friends of our group. We'll also spend a little time agreeing on our 2025 plans.

Meet at the Palace Rose Garden and Pavilion, entering via the Morshead Gate or Palace Garden gate.
